Picture Retakes on Tuesday!!!

Good Morning Parents,

The week of Halloween is always such a fun and exciting time! 🎃

We are collecting gently used costumes for students who may not have one this year. If you have any old costumes you’d be willing to donate, please bring clean costumes to the front office any morning this week.

Your generosity helps make sure every student can join in the fun!

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing everyone on Friday for our Halloween festivities! 👻✨

Principal, Painted Sky Elementary

Halloween Parade Details

We’re excited to celebrate with our Costume Parade! Here are the details:

  • Parade Start Time: 7:45 a.m.

  • Parade Route: Students will walk two laps around the track. (See attached map for the route and lineup locations.)

  • Parent Viewing: Parents who wish to watch the parade may enter through the north sliding gate on the track at 7:30 a.m. (after students come in from morning recess). No visitor badge is needed to watch the parade.

  • Classroom Celebrations: If you plan to join your child in the classroom after the parade, please go to the front office AFTER the parade to sign in and receive a visitor badge.

We’re looking forward to a fun and festive morning! Thank you for helping make this celebration special for our students.

Halloween Costume Guidelines

This year students will be allowed to celebrate Halloween on October 31st with their classmates. Please follow the costume guidelines below when picking out a costume. We want this to be an enjoyable day for everyone.

1. Students may wear facial make-up. Make-up needs to be applied before coming to school, not during school hours. We have many young students on campus so please avoid blood or depictions of violence.

2. Please avoid masks, students will not be able to wear them during the school day.

3. Costumes must adhere to our clothing guidelines regarding modesty.

4. Students should keep any props at home. Props include but are not limited to: swords, brooms, crutches, etc. Props cause a distraction during the school day and may become lost or broken.

5. Please ensure that your child's costume is conducive to a learning environment.

6. Students may wear inflatable costumes, but teachers may ask for them to not have them inflated during class time.

7. Students MUST wear shoes - slippers are not permitted.

Mini Musters - 2nd graders

This week, we welcomed the Golder Ranch Fire Department for their exciting and educational Mini Muster session!

The Golder Ranch Fire District’s Mini Musters are hands-on fire safety events designed to teach children important life-saving skills in a fun and engaging way. Students learned how to practice home fire escape plans, crawl through a simulated smoke obstacle course, and even took part in the “Bucket Brigade”—a crowd favorite!

We are so grateful to Golder Ranch for their continued partnership and dedication to keeping our students safe and informed. ❤️👩‍🚒

Painted Sky’s Biggest Fundraiser Has Taken Off!

Painted Sky kicked off our largest fundraiser of the school year on Wednesday! Students were energized and inspired by the upbeat assembly.

There’s still time to join the fun—don’t forget to turn in your Boarding Pass! ✈️
Visit RaiseAboveIt.com/PaintedSky to complete your registration, then return your pass to school.

Students who complete their steps and bring back their signed Boarding Pass with the completion code will receive their Cookie Blanket and Kindness Passport.

Don’t miss out on the excitement, prizes, and the chance to help our school soar! 🌟

United Nations Assesmbly

We ended this week with an amazing assembly led by our talented 4th grade students in celebration of the United Nations’ birthday!

A huge thank you to Mr. LaPlante for his hard work and dedication in making this event such a success. The students shined through a wonderful fashion show, inspiring speeches, a colorful art contest, and beautiful musical performances. 🎶✨

We’d also like to extend our appreciation to our incredible 4th grade teachers — Mrs. Natale, Mrs. Martinez, and Mrs. Hatfield — as well as Ms. Raina Small for their support and guidance in bringing this celebration to life.

5th Grade Scientists at Work: Exploring Chemical Reactions!

Our 5th graders had an exciting week in science class as they rolled up their sleeves to explore chemical reactions — and things got a little gooey! Students learned how combining certain materials can create entirely new substances through hands-on experiments that sparked curiosity and laughter in equal measure.

The highlight of the lesson was making goo, a fun and messy way to see chemistry in action! As students mixed ingredients and observed changes in texture, color, and consistency, they discovered how everyday materials can transform when they react with one another.

We also have added some pictures of our final skeletons from our owl pellet project.

Way to go, 5th grade scientists — keep experimenting and stay curious!
