Dear Families,

We had a lot happening during our first full week of school! Our students learned about WICOR and AVID, and they were already putting so many of these strategies into practice.

Students worked on getting organized, creating social contracts for their classrooms and common areas, learning our school expectations, collaborating with one another, and so much more! The best part is that they were learning and practicing these skills while also being introduced to their math, reading, writing, science, and social studies curricula.

What a great week! We also did plenty of dancing, laughing, and having fun along the way! 😊

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Parent Information Night. It was a wonderful success, and we loved having the opportunity to connect with so many of our families.

We have more parents that are using the parent drop-off loop in the morning. Please make sure you are pulling all the way up and that students are getting out of the vehicle as soon as you get to the curb. Please do not wait until you pull in front of the office to have your child get out, this creates huge delays.

Also, if you have to assist your child to get out of the vehicle, please make sure you park in the parking lot in front of the field so that we can keep the traffic moving.

Officer Mo has been monitoring traffic speeds as you come through the school zone and has asked us to send out a quick reminder to please slow down!

The speed limit in the school zone is 15 mph, so please make sure you’re following the posted speed limit. We’d hate for anyone to get a ticket! 😊

Arizona’s new Healthy Schools Act changes the types of foods that can be served, sold, or shared at public schools that participate in federal meal programs, including free and reduced-price meals. The law applies to all Amphitheater schools, and our District is required to follow these guidelines.

Below are the guidelines for each grade level for birthday celebrations. We know that there will be more questions about classroom celebrations around the holidays, but these will also have to follow the guidelines outlined by the new Healthy Schools ACT
