Dear Painted Sky Families!
We had a very busy and exciting week at school!
💡 Promise of a Graduate: Creative Thinking
On Wednesday, we held our first school-wide assembly of the year! During the assembly, we introduced our September Promise of a Graduate focus: CREATIVE THINKING!
We want our students to think creatively about how they solve problems, how they use available resources, and how they demonstrate their learning. Creative thinking isn't just about being artistic—it is about looking at challenges in new ways, thinking outside the box, asking questions, and finding different solutions.
Our assembly also included our two fabulous music teachers, who led us in singing our Painted Sky school song! It was a wonderful way to bring our entire school community together.
🎶 3rd–5th Grade Band
After our full-school assembly, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students stayed in the MPR, where Mrs. Brower introduced them to the wonderful instruments they can learn to play by joining our band or orchestra program.
We are so excited to offer band to all 3rd–5th grade students this year!

🎻 3rd - 5th Grade Orchestra
We would also like to invite all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to join our orchestra program!

Students attending orchestra will report to the library for supervision until rehearsal begins.
🎼 Instrument Rental Information
Parents are strongly encouraged to rent an instrument from a local music store. Music stores provide repair services and coverage in the event that an instrument is lost or damaged. This allows students to have instruments repaired or replaced quickly so they can continue participating without interruption.
Renting also gives students the flexibility to switch to a different instrument if they decide they would like to try something else.
Please avoid purchasing inexpensive instruments online, as they often break easily and can be difficult or impossible to repair. A quality rental from a local music store is a great way to ensure that students have an instrument they can depend on as they learn and grow as musicians.
💙 PTO Update
We also held our first General PTO Meeting this week! Thank you so much to everyone who attended and to all of our families who continue to support Painted Sky.
We are incredibly excited about the number of parents who want to get involved and be part of our school community. Your participation helps create a school culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and connected.
Together, we SOAR! 💙
