When Mother Nature Keeps Us on Our Toes!

Yesterday, Mother Nature gave us rain, rain, and more rain, which meant indoor recess for most of the day—but thankfully, our power stayed on! Today, we had the complete opposite: beautiful weather, sunshine, and perfect temperatures for being outside… and then we lost power! 😂

Our students and staff handled both days with flexibility, patience, and a great attitude. When the power went out just after our 5th graders were served lunch, our amazing teachers and staff were quick on their feet, finding creative ways to keep students engaged and learning. And as you can see from the pictures below, today turned into a pretty great opportunity for some outdoor learning, movement, and fun!

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible staff for adapting so quickly and making the best of an unexpected situation. Another THANK YOU to Officer Mo and the OVPD who delivered us water bottles. Just as district office was getting ready to send a notification to families - the power came back on. We are so proud of how our students and staff SOAR—even when the day doesn’t go exactly as planned! 💙☀️

Enjoy the pictures.
