Parent Newsletter September 27, 2026

Dear Painted Sky Families,

Painted Sky is a successful and exciting place to be, and people across our district are noticing! We have had the opportunity to welcome many district leaders and teams to our campus this year so they can see the amazing work happening at Painted Sky.

So far this year, we have hosted the Amphi Foundation Board Meeting, the Amphi Monthly Principals’ Meeting, and welcomed our district ELA, Math, and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinators to campus. We are excited to continue opening our doors and sharing the great things happening in our classrooms!

Next quarter, we will welcome our AVID Coordinators, Social Studies Coordinators, and Science Coordinators to campus. We are proud to share our students, staff, classrooms, and the innovative work happening at Painted Sky with others across our district.

We are proud of our Painted Sky community and love showing others what makes our school SOAR! Thank you to our PTO for assisting us in being great hosts! 🌟💙

Together We SOAR! 💙☁️

Learning about the Constitution - 5th Grade

Our 5th graders had a special visit last week from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as part of our on going focus of learning about the Constitution. They shared an engaging presentation about the U.S. Constitution and helped our students learn more about this important part of American history and our government. Students played games, looked at artifacts, and tried on clothing.

We are so thankful to our community partners for taking the time to bring history to life for our students! 🇺🇸📚

Learning by doing - Hands on Math

We know that hands-on learning makes learning fun and meaningful! Mrs. DiMatteo’s class put this into action by taking turns tracing each other’s bodies. Students practiced measuring different lengths while also comparing their sizes and discussing what they noticed.

It was a fun way to get moving, work together, and bring math to life! 📏✨

1st Grade Fall Activities

We welcomed the first day of fall with lots of fun, hands-on learning! Our students in Mr. Bailey's class created a classroom pumpkin patch, made their very own microbats, and completed a fun glyph project all about scarecrows. 🎃🦇🌾

It was a wonderful way to kick off the new season while learning, creating, and having fun together!

What a fun BBQ Incentive Bash! ☀️🍔

What a FUN day at Painted Sky! Our BBQ lunch on Tuesday was a HUGE success! We loved seeing our campus filled with students, families, smiles, and lots of yummy BBQ! A big THANK YOU to our amazing food service provider, SFE, for cooking up such a delicious lunch and helping make the day extra special. 🍔🌭

A special shout-out to our incredible custodians who set up all the tables and worked hard to keep everything clean throughout the lunch. We appreciate you!

And, of course, the biggest THANK YOU goes to our students and families! We had around 250 family members and visitors join us! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the beautiful weather, delicious food, and our beautiful campus together.

This is what the Painted Sky community is all about—coming together, making memories, and SOARING together! 💙☀️

Painted Sky Digital Curriculum

Our students have access to an online curriculum that is fully aligned with Arizona state standards and is an essential part of our school’s instructional program. This resource is helpful if your child misses school, needs extra practice to understand a skill, or didn’t complete work during the time allotted in class.

To Access Online Curriculum:

  1. Visit clever.com

  2. Click “Log in as a student.”

  3. If prompted, select any Amphi school.

  4. Click “Log in with Google” and enter your child’s school email

This platform gives your child access to the same curriculum they use at school, helping reinforce learning and providing additional practice when needed.

Report Card Rubrics

We are now in the last half of the 1st quarter. At this time I wanted to share with you the rubrics that will be used as part of our standards-based grading system. These rubrics will help provide clear expectations for student learning and progress throughout the year. If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher.
