Halloween Costume Guidelines

This year students will be allowed to celebrate Halloween on October 30th with their classmates. Please follow the costume guidelines below when picking out a costume. We want this to be an enjoyable day for everyone.

1. Students may wear facial make-up. Make-up needs to be applied before coming to school, not during school hours. We have many young students on campus so please avoid blood or depictions of violence.

2. Please avoid masks, students will not be able to wear them during the school day.

3. Costumes must adhere to our clothing guidelines regarding modesty.

4. Students should keep any props at home. Props include but are not limited to: swords, brooms, crutches, etc. Props cause a distraction during the school day and may become lost or broken.

5. Please ensure that your child's costume is conducive to a learning environment.

6. Students may wear inflatable costumes, but teachers may ask for them to not have them inflated during class time.

7. Students MUST wear shoes - slippers are not permitted.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

Dyslexia is a common learning difference that affects reading, writing, and spelling skills. While schools play an important role in identifying students who show characteristics of dyslexia—such as difficulty with phonics, decoding words, or reading fluently—they are not able to provide a formal diagnosis. Instead, schools monitor these signs and may recommend further evaluation by qualified specialists, such as a school psychologist to confirm a reading or writing disability and guide appropriate support. Attached are some helpful references for parents to learn more about dyslexia and available resources.

💛 Support Painted Sky Through Arizona Tax Credit!

Did you know you can support Painted Sky at no additional cost to you? The Arizona Public School Tax Credit allows you to contribute to our school and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state taxes.

🌟 How Does It Work?

  • Married couples filing jointly: Donate up to $400

  • Individuals: Donate up to $200

  • Your contribution can be claimed as a dollar-for-dollar Arizona state tax credit, up to the applicable limit and your tax liability.

  • For the 2026 tax year, contributions must be made by April 15, 2027.

🚌 Your Tax Credit Helps Keep Field Trips Possible!

Many of our tax credit accounts currently have low balances, and this is beginning to impact our ability to provide some of the more traditional field trips our students look forward to each year.

District policy requires schools to rent a charter bus when traveling outside of the local area, and charter buses are a significant expense. As a result, if we do not raise enough tax credit funds, we may need to limit some field trips to local destinations, particularly for our 5th graders.

This could impact educational experiences such as BizTown, which provides students with an exciting, hands-on opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom. Our goal is to continue offering these meaningful experiences while keeping the cost to families as reasonable as possible.

🎨⚽🎶 Where Does Your Donation Go?

Tax credit contributions help provide students with opportunities such as:

  • After-school clubs

  • Field trips and educational experiences

  • Music and art activities

  • Other enrichment opportunities

These experiences allow our students to explore new interests, build confidence, develop real-world skills, and make lasting memories. They are an important part of providing a well-rounded education.

💛 Every Contribution Makes a Difference!

Whether you contribute $25 or the full allowable amount, your support directly impacts the opportunities we can provide for our students. If you are able to make a tax credit contribution, please consider supporting Painted Sky this year.

Thank you for investing in our students and helping us continue to provide the experiences that make school exciting, meaningful, and memorable.

Together, we can help our students learn, grow, and SOAR! 🌟📚🚌

Painted Sky Digital Curriculum

Our students have access to an online curriculum that is fully aligned with Arizona state standards and is an essential part of our school’s instructional program. This resource is helpful if your child misses school, needs extra practice to understand a skill, or didn’t complete work during the time allotted in class.

To Access Online Curriculum:

  1. Visit clever.com

  2. Click “Log in as a student.”

  3. If prompted, select any Amphi school.

  4. Click “Log in with Google” and enter your child’s school email

This platform gives your child access to the same curriculum they use at school, helping reinforce learning and providing additional practice when needed.

Report Card Rubrics

We are now in the last half of the 1st quarter. At this time I wanted to share with you the rubrics that will be used as part of our standards-based grading system. These rubrics will help provide clear expectations for student learning and progress throughout the year. If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher.
